NOTICE

The battery that is included with the Braille Sense may not be fully charged or calibrated.  Before using the Braille Sense, you will want to make sure the battery is fully charged and calibrated  by following the steps below.
 
1.	Plug the AC Adapter into a wall outlet, connect it to the Braille Sense power connector and turn the power switch on.  The power connector is located on the right side of the Braille Sense, behind the rocker switch used to turn the Braille Sense on.  Push the rocker switch toward you to turn on the Braille Sense.  Pushing the rocker switch away from you will turn off the Braille Sense.
2.	After turning on the Braille Sense, insert the battery.  The battery slot is located on the right side of the Braille Sense behind the power connector.  It is important to remember to connect to AC power with the Braille Sense turned on before inserting the battery.
3.	After inserting the battery, bring up the Option menu, by
pressing SPACE-O (dots 1-3-5). 
4.	Next, move to Power Saving Mode by pressing SPACE-DOTS- 4.
The Power saving Mode is set to on by default.  You must change the Power Saving Mode to off by pressing SPACE followed by ENTER to save this change.  Note that the ENTER key is located to the right of DOT-6.
5.	Turn the Braille Sense off and then disconnect the AC adapter.
6.	Finally, turn the power switch on and reconnect the Braille Sense to the AC adapter for about six hours.

Once the battery has been fully charged and calibrated, you may go back in to the Options menu to turn on the Power Saving mode.
